Global Jet International in Australia has taken on a Challenger 604 as part of its managed fleet. The aircraft is based out of Melbourne Jet Base (MJB) at Melbourne International Airport and will be available for charter after all regulatory and crew training requirements have been completed. At this stage, the company is expecting the aircraft to be fully online throughout the second half of Q3.
MD Matt Frick outlines its best features: “The CL604 features a true stand-up cabin with a 10-passenger configuration, delivering exceptional space and comfort for long-haul travel. It has an endurance of approximately 7–7.5 hours, ideal for trans-Tasman and South Pacific routes. It also matches the proven performance and comfort standards of the other three CL604s in our fleet, ensuring a seamless client experience.”

It is expected to be deployed on South Pacific itineraries such as French Polynesia, Vanuatu, Samoa and Fiji, with a focus on high-end business travel for the mining, energy and resource sectors. It offers connectivity between regional hubs and major cities, and can also support official delegations and urgent response missions. Short-haul flights such as Melbourne-Launceston and Melbourne-Kangaroo Island are possible, plus seasonal demand around the Victorian snow season and major Melbourne events.
Frick continues: “It has been a busy and positive year for Global Jet International. Beyond the addition of VH-BMW, we have continued to invest in our systems and processes, including new tools to streamline empty leg management and improve efficiency across the operations team. Charter demand has held up well, and the team continues to grow alongside it.
“We are also excited to share that Global Jet International is expanding into the light jet segment, with an AOC expansion into Part 135 operations to be approved in due course. This will allow us to bring smaller, more agile aircraft into our offering alongside our existing heavy jet and ULR fleet, giving clients greater flexibility for shorter sectors and smaller passenger loads, while further rounding out our capability across the light, mid-size and heavy-jet segments.”
