BACA chairman completes 50k trek for charity RedR

BACA chairman Richard Mumford has completed a 50 kilometre trek for RedR, BACA's chosen charity for 2017. RedR is an organisation that saves thousands of lives each year with the training it provides to aid workers worldwide. Mumford took part in TrekFest, a 50 km trek through the tough terrain of the English Peak District with his dog Cocoa.

During his trek Mumford set some impressive statistics. According to the Fitbit he was wearing he walked 62 km, climbed the equivalent of 525 floors and took 88,000 steps. He started his trek early on the morning of 2 September and completed it later that evening. Egged on by members of the BACA council via WhatsApp, the chairman completed the task and has so far raised in excess of £1,500 for RedR via BACA's JustGiving page.

On finishing the trek Mumford says: “I felt mechanically sound and just about airworthy but in need of a rest.”
