Bell adds hydraulic servo overhaul to Brisbane shop

August 22, 2026

Certification from CASA, FAA and TCCA underpins the expanded Brisbane site, which becomes the company's first APAC facility offering hydraulic services.

The Clontarf, Brisbane facility has grown from a 50 sqm workshop to 800 sqm.

Bell Textron has expanded its component, repair and overhaul (CRO) facility in Clontarf, Brisbane to include hydraulic component maintenance and repair, becoming the company's first facility in the Asia Pacific region to offer specialised hydraulic services.

The facility has grown from a 50 sqm workshop to an 800 sqm standalone site. Bell has invested in non-destructive testing (NDT) capabilities, including a new NDT room three times larger than the original, and has increased the number of qualified technicians to meet demand. The upgraded shop offers a full suite of hydraulic services, including inspection, testing, repair and overhaul of individual components and assemblies for Bell aircraft. Component capability has increased by 50% over the past 12 months.

Dean Ashton, general manager, Bell Textron Australia, says: “This expansion reflects a major investment in our operations and a clear, long-term commitment to the Australian rotary wing market. By upgrading our facilities, introducing new services and growing our team through workforce and talent development, we are strengthening our ability to provide reliable, responsive and locally driven support for operators across Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region.”

Bell Australia has a dedicated CRO logistics team to streamline freight forwarding and improve spares management. The CRO shop has doubled its staff over the past 18 months, supported by an apprenticeship programme and increased investment in technician training. The facility holds certifications from CASA, FAA and TCCA. Hydraulic services cover overhaul and repair of servos for the Bell 205, 206, 212, 407 and 412, with integrated servo and valve assemblies also available for the 212 and 412 and further capability expansions planned. Bell operates 12 company-owned service centres in Australia, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Singapore and the United States, supported by a network of more than 50 authorised service centres worldwide.
