Tamarack AirConnect brings fixed satellite internet to Citation jet fleet

May 31, 2026

The STC-pending system gives Cessna light jet operators a certified alternative to current-gen portable satellite internet setups.

Citation CJ3+ aircraft are included in the initial AirConnect certification programme.

Tamarack Aerospace Group has introduced Tamarack AirConnect, a permanently installed in-flight connectivity system developed for the Cessna Citation light jet fleet.

The FAA STC-pending system uses Low Earth Orbit satellite technology and is designed to deliver broadband-class performance at altitude without the speed restrictions, heated-windshield interference and mounting compromises associated with portable systems.

The initial Tamarack AirConnect STC programme covers all models of the Cessna 525, 525A and 525B. An STC application has been submitted to the FAA and is progressing through certification review.

A Tamarack AirConnect system has already been installed on a customer-owned Cessna 525 Citation CJ1, which has been flying under Experimental certification since March 2026 in support of the STC programme.

“We've been flying with the system since March, and it's exactly what I was hoping for. It just works. It's always on, it's fast and I don't have to think about it. That's a big step forward from anything we've had before,” says the CitationCJ1 owner and pilot.

Tamarack says the system’s permanently installed, aerodynamically optimised, fuselage-mounted antenna gives operators a clearer and more reliable option than portable equipment. The system is intended to work with aviation-grade service plans and can operate without ground speed restrictions, including at 400 knots or with an 80-knot tailwind.

“LEO satellite technology has proven the performance. What owners have been waiting for is a certified solution that's engineered correctly and supported like any other aircraft system. That's what we're delivering with Tamarack AirConnect,” says Nick Guida, CEO, Tamarack Aerospace Group.

The initial STC programme covers Citation 525, CJ1, CJ1+, M2, M2 Gen2, CJ2, CJ2+, CJ3, CJ3+ and CJ3 Gen2 aircraft. Tamarack will publish type-specific STC applicability details as certification milestones are reached.

Tamarack AirConnect is designed to be compatible with leading LEO satellite networks, including Starlink and Amazon Leo. Operators will select and contract directly with their chosen service provider.

“Our team has an established framework for working with the FAA and other authorities around the world, and the Tamarack AirConnect STC is an extension of those capabilities,” says Jacob Klinginsmith, president, Tamarack Aerospace Group.

Tamarack is accepting reservations, with FAA STC approval targeted for Q3 2026. Customer installations will follow STC approval and pricing will be released before installations begin.
