The recognised Wyvern Wingman standard provides a safety benchmark that allows customers to assess an operator's safety performance against the industry's highest standard when selecting charter services.
STA Jets, a jet charter and management company headquartered at John Wayne airport in Santa Ana, California, has reaffirmed its Wyvern Wingman certified operator status, reflecting a sustained commitment to elevated standards of operational safety and discipline. This designation is maintained through ongoing participation in the Wyvern Flight Leader Program, supplemented by structured quarterly coaching designed to support continuous improvement and reinforce best practices across flight operations.
“Safety has always been the foundation of STA Jets' operation, and the renewal of our Wyvern Wingman certification reflects the standards our clients expect and deserve,” says Troy Williams, STA Jets director of safety. “We remain committed to continuous improvement, operational discipline and delivering a private aviation experience built on safety, reliability, transparency and exceptional customer service. Our clients place tremendous trust in us every time they fly, and we take that responsibility seriously. STA Jets is proud to partner with Wyvern and the Flight Leader Program to enhance safety across the industry.”
The globally recognised Wyvern Wingman standard provides a safety benchmark that allows customers to assess an operator's safety performance against the industry's highest standard when selecting charter services. The scope of the evaluation includes a review and assessment of the organisation's compliance management system, internal evaluation programme, safety management system, human factors management, safety culture analysis, risk management policies, procedures and practices, emergency response plans and training programmes. Through the Wyvern Flight Leader Program, participating operators also receive complimentary access to Wyvern's integrated SMS software, which includes capabilities such as ASAP reporting, FOQA integration, CASS tracking, FRAT, FRMS and other data-driven tools designed to strengthen proactive risk identification and operational oversight.
As part of the Wingman commitment, operators share detailed safety management system and emergency response plan information directly with Wyvern, demonstrating a proactive willingness to provide insight into their safety framework, risk controls and response capabilities. By voluntarily opening their programs to independent review, Wingman operators affirm their dedication to accountability and continuous improvement. Additionally, Wingman members, including STA Jets, are eligible for a complimentary annual safety culture analysis, a comprehensive SMS evaluation and participation in Wyvern's world-class Safety Leader Training Course, further reinforcing their commitment to safety leadership and operational excellence.
“By renewing its Wyvern Wingman certification through the Flight Leader Program, STA Jets demonstrates an unwavering commitment to safety and operational excellence,” concludes Andrew Day, Wyvern chief operating officer. “Its consistent professionalism and discipline exemplify the benchmark for top operators in the aviation industry.”
