Short Hills Aviation has once again earned its designation as a Wyvern Wingman certified operator, reaffirming the company's longstanding commitment to the highest standards of operational safety. Through consistent participation in the Wyvern Flight Leader Program and the ongoing support of regular quarterly coaching, Short Hills Aviation continues to strengthen and sustain the safety culture that defines its operations.
Short Hills Aviation is a boutique private aviation operator based in Morristown, New Jersey, specialising in Dassault Falcon aircraft charter and aircraft management, with a fleet that comprises the Falcon 900B, Falcon 50EX, Falcon 7x, Falcon 2000 and Falcon 2000EX EASy.
“Short Hills Aviation is proud to have successfully achieved compliance with the Wyvern Wingman Standard,” says Ethan Gilbert, Short Hills Aviation director of operations. “This reflects our unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest levels of safety, professionalism and operational integrity. This distinction demonstrates that our company, operational procedures, pilot training, maintenance practices and safety management system meet not just our goals but meet or exceed internationally respected best practices within the private aviation industry.”
The globally recognised Wyvern Wingman standard provides a safety benchmark that allows customers to assess an operator's safety performance against the industry's highest standard when selecting charter services. The scope of the evaluation includes a review and assessment of the organisation's compliance management system, internal evaluation programme, safety management system, human factors management, safety culture analysis, risk management policies, procedures and practices, emergency response plans and training programmes. Through the Wyvern Flight Leader Program, participating operators also receive complimentary access to Wyvern's integrated SMS software, which includes capabilities such as ASAP reporting, FOQA integration, CASS tracking, FRAT, FRMS and other data-driven tools designed to strengthen proactive risk identification and operational oversight.
As part of the Wingman commitment, operators share detailed safety management system and emergency response plan information directly with Wyvern, demonstrating a proactive willingness to provide insight into their safety framework, risk controls and response capabilities. By voluntarily opening their programmes to independent review, Wingman operators affirm their dedication to accountability and continuous improvement. Additionally, Wingman members, including Short Hills Aviation, are eligible for a complimentary annual safety culture analysis, a comprehensive SMS evaluation, and participation in Wyvern's world-class Safety Leader Training Course, further reinforcing their commitment to safety leadership and operational excellence.
“By renewing its Wyvern Wingman certification through the Flight Leader Program, Short Hills Aviation demonstrates an unwavering commitment to safety and operational excellence,” concludes Andrew Day, Wyvern chief operating officer. “Its consistent professionalism and discipline exemplify the benchmark for top operators in the aviation industry.”
