Operational and hospitality support will span 17 locations, helping to transport athletes and coaches across the US while creating a seamless and celebratory journey experience.
Signature Aviation has been named exclusive fixed base operator sponsor for the 2026 Special Olympics Airlift, which will bring together the general aviation community to fly athletes to the USA Games in Minnesota’s Twin Cities.
Organised by Textron, the Special Olympics Airlift is the world’s largest peacetime airlift, mobilising more than 100 volunteer Cessna, Beechcraft and Hawker owners and pilots. The 2026 Airlift will transport participants to the Games on Friday, June 19 and return them home on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
As part of its role, a Signature Aviation hangar will be transformed into the Champion Center, a dedicated arrival and departure space designed to celebrate athletes from the moment they step off the aircraft through to their journey home.
The collaboration highlights the aviation community’s ability to deliver more than transportation, combining Textron Aviation’s leadership in organising the Airlift with Signature Aviation’s expertise in hospitality and operations.
“The Special Olympics Airlift is about creating an experience where athletes feel welcomed and celebrated from the moment they arrive,” says Ron Draper, president and CEO, Textron Aviation. “Signature Aviation helps make that possible with a level of care that turns the journey into a meaningful part of the Games.”
