The upgraded De Havilland aircraft was presented at the 2025 Paris Air Show ahead of delivery as serial number 998 of the type.
Zimex Aviation is preparing to introduce the first production-standard Twin Otter Classic 300-G into its fleet following final certification. The upgraded aircraft, developed by De Havilland Canada, was shown at the 2025 Paris Air Show and is the 998th Twin Otter built since the type’s launch. A long-time Twin Otter operator and De Havilland-endorsed service centre, Zimex will become the first to fly the 300-G with EASA approval.
The latest generation Classic 300-G includes a lighter airframe, increased payload capacity and the new Garmin 1000 avionics suite. A redesigned cabin improves comfort while lowering basic empty weight, with new window bezels, lighter e-leather seating and enhanced passenger interfaces contributing to efficiency. Standard on current builds, the refit supports more flexible mission configurations.
In 2023, Zimex signed a purchase agreement for two DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G aircraft, reaffirming a long-standing relationship with De Havilland Canada. Both aircraft are set to support Zimex’s specialised operations in difficult and remote environments, where STOL performance and rugged design remain mission-critical.

Zimex supports humanitarian and remote operations worldwide and will use the aircraft across its typical mix of cargo, logistics and special mission roles.
