MT-Propeller worked with BLR and Blackhawk to certify the ultra-quiet design across the King Air 300 series, delivering optimised performance and quieter flights.
BLR Aerospace and Blackhawk have worked with MT-Propeller to certify the seven-blade Whisper Prop for the King Air 300 and 350 series aircraft. Approvals from both the FAA and EASA have confirmed the propeller’s compliance across both platforms.
The Whisper Prop is the quietest available for the King Air 300 series, using MT's natural composite technology from its five-blade predecessor. Each blade has a resin-infused wood core wrapped in carbon fibreglass composite for durability and efficiency. The system also offers better aerodynamics, improved climb rate and fuel efficiency, simplified maintenance and greater durability through nickel-cobalt leading-edge protection. BLR, the worldwide distributor of MT-Propellers for King Air and Beech 1900 aircraft, showcased the prop at the 2025 King Air Gathering in Phoenix, Arizona.
“After years of commercial success with the five-blade Whisper Props, we are proud to offer our customers the added option of the extremely quiet seven-blade Whisper Prop,” says BLR Aerospace president Clay Bringhurst.
Blackhawk’s XP67A Engine+ upgrade for the King Air 350 has also been certified for use with the seven-blade prop, combining increased performance with quieter, smoother operations. “The certification of the seven-blade Whisper Prop with our XP67A Engine+ upgrade is a huge win,” adds Blackhawk president Edwin Black. “It's quieter, smoother and makes an already incredible upgrade even better.”
