The first demonstration flights were a success, now Flyv is aiming for a start date of May 2025 for regional air mobility services.
Europe-based startup Flyvbird (Flyv) has successfully completed its first demonstration flights at Germany's Friedrichshafen airport, marking a pivotal step towards flexible, on-demand air mobility services.
The company will also begin its first scheduled flights from Friedrichshafen in May 2025. In partnership with regional companies and supported by key partners, including aviation think tank Bauhaus Luftfahrt, its goal is to redefine air travel in underserved regions. Initial bookings are expected to open later this year.
Tomislav Lang, Flyvbird’s principal shareholder and founder, and former CEO of SkyWork Airlines, comments: “This marks a milestone for future regional air mobility models. The demonstration was made possible through the generous support of Friedrichshafen airport, German sightseeing operator Alpen Air and its Tecnam P2012 Traveller, and Bauhaus Luftfahrt, all of whom back Flyvbird’s mission to create a flexible, sustainable and customer-driven future in air travel. Flyvbird plans to begin operations using the Tecnam P2012 Traveller.
