Midwest Flying Service secures Wyvern Wingman renewal through Flight Leader Program
December 31, 2025:Midwest Flying Service has once more secured its designation as a Wyvern Wingman Certified Operator through the Flight Leader Program with ongoing quarterly coaching by Wyvern. The Wyvern Wingman standard, the first air charter audit standard in the aviation industry, establishes a trusted safety benchmark, enabling air charter customers to evaluate operator performance against recognised industry best practices.
Midwest Flying Service is a family-run aviation company based in Sheldon, Iowa, that has been providing charter flights and specialised air transportation solutions since 1992. Operating a versatile fleet comprising Citation jets and the Piper Cheyenne that is capable of flying between 1,200 and 3,500 nautical miles and accommodating six to nine passengers, the company also offers medical evacuation and organ transplant flights.

Achieving Wingman status requires meeting the industry's most rigorous safety criteria. The scope of the evaluation encompasses a review of the organisation's compliance management system, internal evaluation programme, safety management system, human factors management, safety culture analysis, risk management policies, procedures and practices, emergency response plans and training programmes.
