L. J. Aviation continues legacy of safety with Wingman certification
July 30, 2025:L. J. Aviation has earned and renewed its designation as a Wyvern Wingman certified operator following a successful audit conducted by Wyvern in June 2025. The Wyvern Wingman standard, the first air charter audit standard in the aviation industry, provides a safety benchmark that allows air charter customers to assess performance expectations against recognised industry best operating practices before purchasing air charter services.
Headquartered at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, L. J. Aviation manages and operates a diverse fleet of over 30 aircraft, including Boeing Business Jets, Bombardier Globals, Challengers, Learjets, Cessna Citations and Beechcraft models. With a comprehensive portfolio of services, including aircraft management, charter, maintenance, hangarage and FBO services, its operations span multiple locations, with satellite offices in Bedford, Massachusetts; Marshfield, Wisconsin; Rochester, New York; and Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, allowing the company to deliver service across the United States.

Wingman operators are evaluated by the Wingman Standard criteria. The scope of the evaluation includes an assessment of operational activities, a review of the company's operational history and safety records, a safety management system (SMS), an internal evaluation programme, administrative compositions, technical documentation, pilot and aircraft records, training requirements and maintenance operations including technician training and experience.
