AirX marks transformative fleet redesign and $250 million growth plans with striking new livery

January 6, 2025:

AirX, a prominent luxury private aviation operator and the second-largest dedicated charter company in Europe, has showcased its Bombardier Challenger 850, the first aircraft to be completed in a new livery, marking the start of a transformative fleet redesign.

This announcement underscores AirX's ambition to redefine private jet travel with unmatched style and innovation using a unique, cash-positive business plan. The new livery reflects AirX's ethos of sophistication, flexibility and customer-centric luxury. Alongside its visually arresting exterior, the aircraft's upgraded interior features premium dark grey wood finishes, bespoke leather seating and spacious configurations accommodating up to 16 passengers. This aircraft is tailored for mid-range flights, offering versatility for VVIPs, global brands, corporate executives and government officials.

This launch is part of AirX's five-year growth strategy, bolstered by its inaugural external investment, which has completed series A, with further talks to add 25 aircraft to the fleet. With plans to expand its fleet significantly, AirX aims to cement its position as a global leader in private aviation, catering to discerning clients with aircraft such as the Embraer Lineage 1000 and Airbus A340.

"Our new livery is more than just an aesthetic overhaul. It symbolises our growth, innovation and unwavering commitment to delivering unparalleled luxury experiences with one rule; it always has to make bottom line margins," said John Matthews, chairman and founder of AirX.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Malta, AirX operates one of Europe's largest private jet fleets, employing over 400 professionals. With MRO operations extending from London Stansted Airport, the fleet has a true worldwide capability operating private jets such as the world's largest VIP charter airliner, its "9H-BIG" A340.

From €8 million in sales as a defunct airline, John B. Matthews took the reins, bootstrapped its growth and achieved a remarkable 26% CAGR, transforming the company into a €150 million powerhouse by the end of 2024, and generating over €30 million in EBITDA. With significant debt payments cleared entirely unaided, 2025 marks a turning point, with forecasted sales of €205 million, €41 million in EBITDA and €17 million in cash generation. "It's our finest year ahead," Matthews proudly declares.

This latest initiative positions AirX as a trailblazer in the private aviation industry, combining state-of-the-art design, strategic growth and customer-focused innovation to set a new standard in luxury travel.
