Boomerang Air Charter, Saturn Aviation and Lionheart Holdings join ACSF's ASAP programme

February 22, 2024:

The Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF), an organisation dedicated to promoting and enhancing safety within the private aviation sector for the past 15 years, is proud to announce the addition of three distinguished members to its esteemed roster; Boomerang Air Charter, a PC12 fleet operator based in Jacksonville, Florida; Saturn Aviation, an Austin, Texas based aircraft management and charter company; and Part 91 operator Lionheart Holdings, Inc. These just culture-minded companies have made a pivotal commitment to advancing aviation safety by joining the ACSF's Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP).

The Aviation Safety Action Program stands at the forefront of enabling flight operators to pinpoint and mitigate potential flight safety concerns, thereby significantly reducing risks. Administered by the ACSF in collaboration with the FAA, ASAP represents a pioneering, open, self-reporting system. Through this system, facilitated by a third party, aviation operators can report, track and rectify safety issues, thus fostering a robust culture of safety and continuous improvement within their operations.

Bryan Burns, president and CEO of ACSF, expressed his enthusiasm for the new additions, "The commitment of Boomerang Air Charter, Saturn Aviation and Lionheart Holdings, Inc. to maintain the highest possible safety standards is indeed commendable. By joining the Aviation Safety Action Program, they have taken a significant step forward in our collective endeavour to ensure unparalleled safety for both passengers and crew. This move not only highlights their dedication to safety excellence but also sets a sterling example for others in the industry to follow."

The benefits of participating in the ACSF's Aviation Safety Action Program are manifold and transformative. Through its non-punitive reporting system, the programme nurtures a proactive 'just culture' that encourages open reporting and learning from incidents without fear of retribution. This culture is crucial for developing effective and enduring safety measures. Furthermore, the programme facilitates a unique collaboration with the FAA, allowing the ACSF to act as an intermediary that shares best practices and provides valuable administrative resources. Participation in ASAP also significantly enhances an organisation's reputation by demonstrating a solid commitment to safety, thereby reassuring clients, passengers and stakeholders of their unwavering dedication to well-being.

As the ACSF continues to champion safety and best practices within the private aviation community, its collaborative programmes, including the Aviation Safety Action Program, play a vital role in achieving its mission. These initiatives not only improve safety standards but also contribute to the industry's overall growth and reputation as leaders in safety and operational excellence.
