Chapman Freeborn wins top cargo charter award for fourth successive year

June 16, 2010:

Chapman Freeborn Airchartering has once again landed the prestigious 'Air Cargo Charter Broker of the Year' prize at the ACW World Air Cargo Awards.

For the fourth consecutive year, worldwide freight forwarders and cargo airlines have chosen the global aircraft charter specialist as their favourite provider following a round of independent voting.

The ACW broker award is unique in the industry and has been won by Chapman Freeborn each year since it was established in 2007.

George Mikhailov, manager of Chapman Freeborn's China team, collected the award on behalf of the company's worldwide offices at a ceremony in Shanghai attended by leading figures from the cargo aviation industry.

The latest award marks the end of a busy 12 month period for Chapman Freeborn. Alongside day-to-day work for freight forwarders and logistics providers, the company provided support for a number of emergency airlifts including coordinating over 100 charters to Haiti to help those left homeless by the earthquake earlier this year.

Elsewhere, notable operations included an Antonov 225 charter to transport four giant pieces of oil and gas equipment totalling almost 150 tons from Houston to Sao Paulo. The flight was the first time the world's largest fixed-wing aircraft had been used for an operation in South America.

The latest award completes a successful month for Chapman Freeborn after Chris Chapman, founder and chairman of Chapman Freeborn Airchartering was inducted into The International Air Cargo Association's (TIACA) 'Hall of Fame' in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development and growth of the global air charter market.

"On behalf of our global cargo and passenger team I would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to all those who voted for Chapman Freeborn. Your dedication and loyalty is highly recognised, and from you local Dubai office, Irene, Lloyd, Paul, Vikas and myself would like to personally thank you." Eliska Hill, General Manager, Chapman Freeborn Dubai Office.
