On-demand charters protect private fliers from flight trackers says Stratos Jet Charters

June 15, 2023:

As private jet trackers gain traction on social media and celebrities find their names and flight paths in the news, high-profile fliers are looking for better ways to protect their privacy.

Powered by public information available through sites such as ADS-B Exchange and FlightAware, flight tracking pages broadcast the location of private jets owned by celebrities and government officials, such as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Elon Musk, former President Donald Trump and Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg.

DeSantis recently signed a bill to redact information about his flights aboard state-owned and private aircraft, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has also taken steps to mitigate real-time tracking through a programme that limits aircraft data displayed online. However, not all trackers rely on FAA data.

According to Joel Thomas, CEO of Orlando, Florida private jet broker Stratos Jet Charters, there is a simple solution to these privacy concerns: on-demand jet charters.

“Chartering a private jet helps people to fly incognito without worrying about their privacy and security,” says Thomas. “For those who are concerned about their private flights being tracked, chartering a jet is the best solution.”

Trackers built using these platforms, whether they rely on FAA data or not, use the aircraft's tail number to determine its location. When you book an on-demand charter, that tail number is connected only to the aircraft's operator.

“It's now easier than ever to track government and private-owned aircraft. But these flight trackers can only verify the operator, not identify the passengers aboard an aircraft,” says Thomas. “At Stratos, we vet all our operators and carriers so our clients can enjoy an elevated flying experience in complete privacy. Your flight information is only shared with our team and the ground crew.”

While both jet card memberships and on-demand charters provide fliers with more anonymity, Thomas says flying on a flight-by-flight basis is also the best way to protect your capital.

“Fliers want to soar higher without risky upfront capital investments,” says Thomas. “When you fly on-demand with Stratos, you pay as you go, so you never risk your capital or your privacy to fly privately.”
