Gulfstream holds aircraft exhibition in Vietnam with Sun Group

On November 5-6, 2022, for the first time in Vietnam, an aircraft exhibition, Airshow 2022, was organised by Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation and the luxury jet airline Sun Air, a division of the Sun Group. The event took place at Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh and was limited to business guests and potential customers of the two brands.

Bringing together the world's fastest, safest and most comfortable aircraft from Gulfstream, the aircraft brand selected by global entrepreneurs and billionaires, Airshow 2022 marks an important milestone. in the development of the premium aviation segment, as well as in the development of international trade and luxury tourism, in Vietnam.

At the exhibition, visitors were able to see firsthand the G600 and G650ER, two Gulfstream legends that have won many awards in the aviation field. These are two lines of aircraft with outstanding performance and high-speed capabilities, able to fly farther and faster than any other aircraft, saving more than 50 hours of flight time per year with a flight speed of Mach 0.90 (1,103km/h), and reach the most technically demanding destinations with superb take-off and landing capabilities within exceptional range, setting standards for performance, safety and comfort.

Gulfstream also specially chose this event to launch for the first time in Vietnam and Asia the Gulfstream G700 jet. According to the OEM's representative, the Gulfstream G700 is currently the leading jet in the business jet market today, with the longest, widest and tallest cabins and a maximum capacity of 19 passengers, and is designed with up to five zones, including a flexible living area, including large room, kitchen area and comfortable lavatory.

Airshow 2022 is considered an event of special significance in the field of aviation in particular and Vietnam's aviation in general, because this is the rare time that the famous OEM Gulfstream has organised an aircraft exhibition, separate from the scale of regular air shows. According to Mr. Reiner Suess, operations director of Sun Air; “It is not easy for Gulfstream to agree to hold an aircraft show outside of the usual schedule of exhibitions that it participates in around the world. Therefore, this is a very special event, not only for Vietnam or Sun Air but also for Gulfstream."

Gulfstream's choice of Van Don as the destination to hold its own aircraft exhibition has also shown that Vietnam is a potential market for the high-end aviation industry. This exhibition not only shows the increasing demand for high-class flight services, but also affirms that Vietnam is creating a new position in the international arena.

Launched in March 2022, Sun Air is the first Vietnamese general airline in the luxury segment, providing personalised and specialised high-class flight services with two types: commercial and management of private aircraft and charter flights, sightseeing flights. Six months after its launch, through verification to ensure full and absolute compliance with strict operating standards, Sun Air was officially granted its air operator certificate by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) on September 29, 2022, with approval for both domestic and international flights. In September and October 2022, respectively, Sun Air's first Gulstream G650ER aircraft were officially put into operation, laying the foundation for the airline's outstanding fast, safe and comfortable fleet.
