Million Air Dallas joins Air Charter Safety Foundation and Aviation Safety Action Program
September 21, 2022:The Air Charter Safety Foundation has welcomed Million Air Dallas, a luxury, fixed-base operator that also provides aircraft management and charter services from its facility at Addison Airport in Dallas, Texas, as its newest member and participant in the ACSF's Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP).
Don Rickerhauser, president and accountable executive of Million Air Dallas, said that he looks forward to forming a safety-focused partnership with the Air Charter Safety Foundation. “We're excited to team up with the ACSF, FAA and our industry colleagues through active participation in the Aviation Safety Action Program,” he said. “Joining this initiative will enable us to identify and implement industry-best safety initiatives, thereby increasing our safety margin and raising the level of safety awareness within our pilot group.”
The ASAP is a voluntary, self-reporting programme that enables ACSF member companies to identify and reduce possible flight safety concerns, as well as to mitigate risk. In cooperation with the FAA, the ACSF serves as a third-party manager of the ASAP for its members, including rotor wing operators, on-demand charter operators, fractional operators and corporate flight departments. The ACSF's members represent more than 60 percent of all participating organisations in the programme, including airlines.
ASAP participation is a direct benefit of the ACSF, a Washington D.C.-based organisation that provides aviation safety-related services and support for business aviation and the charter industry.
ACSF's president Bryan Burns is pleased that the ASAP is being extended to aviation organisations of all sizes and missions, including to helicopter operators. “We're grateful to see this broadening level of regard and respect for what the ASAP programme can do for virtually all aircraft safety-related matters,” Burns said.
Rickerhauser also stated that the Air Charter Safety Foundation is the safety cornerstone of the business aviation industry, and that Million Air Dallas is committed to utilising the state-of-the-art safety tools the ACSF provides to ensure the continuing strengthening of its safety management system.
