Aviasur receives first five-blade H145 in Chile

May 2, 2022:

Airbus Helicopters has delivered the first five-bladed H145 in Chile to Santiago-based operator Aviasur for passenger transport and multipurpose missions.

"By investing in this new aircraft, we are opening a new chapter in our history. Our goals as a company have always been to be at the forefront of technology in the local aviation market, so the five-bladed H145 is the answer, perfect for our purpose," said Rodrigo Contreras, general manager of Aviasur. "We are also proud to continue our long-standing relationship with Airbus and to be the first operator to use this helicopter in Chile."

"We are very pleased that the H145 will enter service to support Aviasur's operations. The new H145 will increase its service capacity thanks to its versatility and high performance. The helicopter adapts perfectly to the lifestyle of private and corporate clients thanks to to its technology and comfort, and they will be able to go wherever they want," said Jérôme Ronssin, general manager of Airbus Chile.

This new version of its successful H145 light twin-engine helicopter brings an innovative new five-blade rotor to the multi-mission helicopter and offers new levels of comfort, simplicity and connectivity. This four-ton twin-engine helicopter offers new mission capabilities and flexibility, especially in operations with high-altitude or high-temperature conditions.

There are more than 1,550 H145 family helicopters in service around the world, logging a total of more than six million flight hours. Powered by two Safran Arriel 2E engines, the H145 is equipped with full authority digital engine control (FADEC) and the Helionix digital avionics suite. It includes a high-performance four-axis autopilot, increasing safety and reducing pilot workload. Its particularly low acoustic footprint makes the H145 the quietest helicopter in its class.

With more than 20 years of presence in the country and a 60 percent market share of the commercial aircraft fleet currently in service, 12 military aircraft in service and a fleet of more than 125 helicopters in service, Airbus is the leader of the aerospace market in Chile. In 2018, Airbus inaugurated its new facilities in the country, replacing the building it had occupied for more than two decades and reaffirming the company's confidence in Chile and in the potential growth of the local aeronautical market.
