Planet Nine awarded Wyvern Wingman Pro status

November 2, 2021:

Planet Nine, the leading US aircraft charter and management company headquartered in Van Nuys, California, is celebrating the award of Wyvern's new Wingman Pro certification, the highest safety standard accolade for a Part 135 operator from the revered business aviation industry safety audit provider.

The new Wingman Pro certification verifies an operator's safety culture using advanced safety culture tools recognised by safety experts and regulatory agencies. Pro is an enhanced Wingman certification, demonstrating that Planet Nine has excelled in all areas of safety management systems; has shown excellence in addressing human factors and organisational safety culture, and exhibits continuous conformity to international standards through an internal audit programme.

Congratulating Planet Nine on its new status Wyvern CEO Sonnie Bates commented: “The award of new Wingman Pro validates Planet Nine's commitment to attaining and maintaining an enduring safety culture.”

“We are delighted to be one of the first Part 135 operators to attain Wyvern Wingman Pro certification,” said co founder Matt Walter. "The Wingman Pro rating is the culmination of several years' hard work by the entire Planet Nine family. Since our inception, we've invested significant resources into hiring the best employees, building an elite leadership team and implementing state-of-the-art safety management tools. This has facilitated a strong safety culture, which has been instrumental for process improvement, providing valuable safety insights and reducing organisational risk. I am incredibly proud of our team. We look forward to a long partnership with Wyvern as we continue to grow and cultivate our safety management system (SMS)."

Planet Nine, which marked its third birthday in June 2021, also recently added another ultra long-range aircraft, a Bombardier Global 6000, to its managed charter fleet. Its newest aircraft (N555DT), powered by Rolls-Royce BR700 engines, with a 6,000 nm range, is the sixth business jet to join its growing aircraft management division since the start of 2021. Configured for 16 passengers, the aircraft presents in a stylish, flexible seating layout for dining, relaxation and work.

Seating is soft 'putty' Townsend leather, complemented by luxury Tai Ping carpet, upholstered with satin nickel and wood veneer cabinetry. There is a generous galley for food and drink preparation. Inflight entertainment is via Collins' FCMS, (flight cabin management system) featuring Blu-Ray disc players.
