Crew Aviation promotes Shannon Weidekamp to chief strategy and innovation officer
January 29, 2021:Crew Aviation, LLC, a Part 135 air carrier based in Louisville, Kentucky, announced today the promotion of Shannon Weidekamp to chief strategy and innovation officer.
She will have the primary responsibilities of developing new markets and increasing business by acquiring new clients and establishing productive and profitable relationships with external firms and organisations. She will provide strategic direction to the company and help lead business development activities, goals and objectives that align with the vision, mission and values of Crew Aviation.
“Shannon has played an active role in our current success, and we were excited to promote her to this important new leadership position,” said Clyde Ensor, founder and CEO of Crew Aviation.
Ms. Weidekamp joined the company six years ago as director of marketing and client services. Previously, Ms. Weidekamp served as director of cabin safety and manager/lead flight attendant for a private, Part 91 corporate flight department. From her previous experience, she understands the needs of clients and owners, and has established relationships with aircraft manufacturers, vendors and suppliers on a global level.
Ms., Weidekamp states, “I am excited for the opportunities this new position offers. I believe I have a unique and insightful view on the needs of our clients from a safety and service perspective as well as the attention to detail they desire from the business side of the organisation and how Crew Aviation can help them reach their business and personal success goals.”
Ms. Weidekamp has over 30 years in public relations and customer service management with 12 years in aviation. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership with a minor in Marketing, is a graduate of The Protocol School of Washington and certified protocol and etiquette trainer, holds a culinary degree certificate, and is an instructor/curriculum developer of the cabin upset training programme at Flight Research, Inc. She has provided VVIP client services and public relations for CEOs, celebrities, heads of state, delegates, royal families, and both the Bourbon and the thoroughbred horse racing industries.
She also holds several memberships and positions on aviation professional boards: member of board of directors of Women in Aviation International, current chair of the National Business Aviation Association flight attendant/flight technicians committee, ASTM certified business aviation cabin crew member, member of ASTM F46.07, aerospace personnel technical committee, member of the International Society of Air Safety Investigators, member of the Global Business Travel Association, and serves as chair of the sponsorship committee for the Rally Foundation for Children's Cancer Research in Nashville, Tennessee.
