Airshare achieves highest global standards for safety

September 30, 2020:

US fractional operator Airshare has achieved the highest international standards for safe flight operations, earning International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) Stage III certification from the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC), the company announced today.

IBAC certified Airshare following an extensive audit of the company's operations including flight operations, maintenance, flight control, owner services, safety management system (SMS) and emergency planning, in addition to accounting and marketing.

SMS is the internationally accepted framework for aviation safety and is required by regulation for airlines but optional in business aviation. The systems incorporate hazard identification and safety risk management to reduce risk to an acceptable level. Audits verify that standards and recommended practices are established, utilised and effective. Stage II represents the most advanced level of certification designated by IS-BAO.

Airshare is one of the largest private aviation companies offering fractional ownership, jet cards, whole aircraft management and charter services. Airshare was also designated as an ARGUS International Platinum charter operator in 2018, the highest rating it offers.

“The safety and comfort of our owners, passengers and flight crews has always been our top priority, and Airshare is fully committed to developing and maintaining an effective safety management system,” said Airshare chief executive officer John Owen. “Earning IS-BAO Stage III certification verifies what we have always know, that safety management activities are interwoven within every aspect of our business, and reflects the positive culture of safety that is so vitally important to us.”

Airshare earned IS-BAO Stage I certification in 2014 and Stage II certification in 2016.
