Wing Aviation and Western Airways sign agreement to merge aircraft management and charter services

June 1, 2020:

Western Airways, a business aircraft operator and MRO based in Sugar Land, Texas, announced today the merger of its private aircraft management and charter services with fellow Texan operator Wing Aviation.

Under this agreement, Wing Aviation will assume all aircraft management and FAA Part 135 charter operation responsibilities for the Western Airways fleet, solidifying its position as the largest operator in Texas. Western Airways will continue as an FAA certified Part 145 repair station with plans to enhance its already robust technical infrastructure at the Sugar Land Regional Airport.

“Our agreement with Western Airways complements our overall offering. Aircraft owners will benefit from our vast investment in our management services, which has amplified our technology, training and compliance,” said Brian Chapman, CEO of Wing Aviation. “Wing's demand for charter has outweighed our aircraft supply over the past few years. This merger will quickly expand our fleet and meet the demand of our existing and growing retail clientele.”

Wing Aviation and Western Airways are both well respected private aviation brands in Houston. Both companies have earned and maintained the highest-level safety standards for their operations, including IS-BAO certification and ARG/US Platinum ratings. This synergy will continue between the two companies past the initial transfer of the aircraft management and charter business. Western will provide maintenance support for the Wing managed aircraft supplementing Wing's in-house capabilities.

“With Western Airways and Wing working together, we will be able to help leverage each other's strengths.” said Keith Mosing, CEO of Western Airways. “Western Airways is pleased to be able to focus on its Part 145 certified repair station with its large capabilities list, including avionics. We look forward to working with Wing for the mutual benefit of our companies as well as our customers.” Going forward, Mr. Mosing will be a part of Wing Aviation's advisory board.

Wing Aviation recently moved its headquarters at the Houston William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) to a state-of-the-art new facility, and has base operations at Conroe North Houston Regional Airport (CXO) and Addison Airport (ADS). The agreement will expand Wing Aviation's fleet and geographic presence, creating a more diverse selection of aircraft and base options for charter clients in the greater Houston area, with Wing's new base at the Sugar Land Regional Airport (SGR), a base that will be supported by Western Airways.
