JetClass creates 'Flightpooling', a bespoke initiative making urgent travel accessible to the masses

JetClass, the private business airline, headquartered inVienna, Austria, has today announced the launch of 'Flightpooling', a flexible, safe and cost-effective flight-sharing programme designed to provide urgent travel assistance to people the world over.

This not-for-profit initiative has been launched in response to the countless people struggling globally to travel, due to the total suspension or vast reductions in operations by the world's major airlines in the face of COVID-19. JetClass, being in the private aviation space, was quick to appreciate just how few people can afford a full private jet charter, and consequently created Flightpooling, a middle ground between expensive charters and unavailable scheduled flights.

With many people indefinitely stranded in their current location and unable to return home or to be reunited with their loved ones, compounded by daily changes to the situation in each country, this is creating a great deal of distress, anxiety and confusion. Flightpooling by JetClass provides a much-needed solution to this widespread problem, offering flights to any city with open borders and up-to-date information and advice on entry and quarantine requirements for each destination market.

Individuals are simply requested to start subscribing or creating their list of required flights online and JetClass will take if from there, making the necessary arrangements once a critical mass has been reached. The costs borne by the company to run each flight will simply be passed on and divided equally among the passengers on board, with no margin added.

All reasonable safety precautions will be taken in order to provide assurances to passengers, including the wearing of protective gear at all times, properly sanitised aircraft, COVID-negative crew and a requirement to complete a checklist and undergo a temperature check before boarding.

“We have heard some truly heartbreaking stories from people all over the world, desperate to get home since the COVID-19 restrictions were justifiably enforced, and determined that we have the ability to help, utilising the existing JetClass technology, infrastructure and resources,” said Wagas Ali, CEO and co-founder of JetClass. “Knowing that we are in a unique position to provide a practical solution to the pain that exists in the market made the decision to create 'FlightPooling' very easy.”

Flights will be arranged through some of the world's leading jet-operators, offering anything from six-seater jets to larger commercial aircraft, depending on the passenger numbers. On the whole, general aviation terminals will be used, offering a more seamless and crowd-free experience, or through commercial terminals when required due to aircraft size. In light of the circumstances, inflight services will not be offered on short haul routes, although for longer haul flights arrangements will be made to ensure the comfort and safety of passengers.
