Nomad Aviation successfully passes IS-BAO Stage II audit and receives certificate

Nomad Aviation has successfully passed the IS-BAO Stage II audit and received the certificate, which is issued by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC).

The IS-BAO certification was launched in 2002 and is based on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards that prepare small and large operators for safe domestic and international operations. The registration certificate is issued upon successful completion of an audit and serves as proof of conformance to key ICAO standards.

To achieve Stage II approval Nomad Aviation needed to demonstrate and ensure that safety and risks are being effectively managed. The Stage II level audit is a review of the prior two years of operation, showing the growth and maturity of the safety programme under Stage I. Areas audited include organisation and personnel, training and proficiency, flight operations, operations in international and other specialised airspace, equipment requirements, the company operations manual, maintenance requirements, emergency response planning, environment management, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods and security. It is intended, not only to point out to the company its strengths, but also to show its weaknesses, so that it can further focus on improvements. Nomad Aviation completed IS-BAO Stage I in early January 2018 when the company successfully demonstrated that the appropriate safety management system (SMS) had been established. IS-BAO Stage II certification can be obtained after two years operation under Stage I.
