Flitestar launches Air Link Wales service

Cheshire-based aviation company, Flitestar Private Air, has launched its new Air Link Wales programme connecting Cardiff, Caernarfon and Haverfordwest with other regional airports in the UK and Europe.

Menai Bridge on Anglesey may seem to be an unusual location for an aviation company to open an office but Flitestar is committed to improving air connectivity from north Wales in particular and opened its new Welsh regional office on the Island in December, managed by James Blackler.

The Air Link Wales network currently offers flight charter services from Caernarfon airport to destinations such as the Isle of Man, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Southampton as well as London for connections to and from Gatwick and Heathrow. Southampton is particularly popular for passengers connecting to cruises who wish to avoid the long road or rail trip down south. Similar destinations are served from Cardiff and Haverfordwest as well as European cities.

Neil Baines, CEO of the company, says “As a resident of north Wales myself, I've often been frustrated by the lack of air connectivity, and we are pleased to start to address this through our new Air Link Wales charter programme, which is ideally suited to both leisure and corporate customers. Flying private can save hours of travel time, which is of particular value to north Wales based organisations.” Flitestar services can also be reserved through your favourite, local independent travel agent.

While the Flitestar does not currently have plans to introduce scheduled services, it has not ruled this out as a future possibility depending upon demand. In addition to air charter services, the new office at 33 High Street, Menai Bridge, also offers a full range of travel agency services in partnership with sister company, Journeys by Jet.

Journeys by Jet is a member of the Travel Trust Association and holds partnerships with leading travel brands such as Riviera Travel, Cunard, Saga, Celebrity Cruises and more.

Other services from Flitestar include City Jet Connect, a pre-priced service from London airports to ten European cities, as well as large group charters for sports teams as well as corporate/music groups.
