Tamarack Aerospace announces Citation 560XL Active Winglet program

October 10, 2017:

Tamarack Aerospace Group announced today at the annual National Business Aircraft Association Convention a new program that will certify its Atlas Active Winglets on the Cessna Citation 560XL series which includes the Excel, XLS and XLS+ business aircraft. Tamarack has also partnered with Innova Aerospace on their ‘myC560’ modernization program for the Citation Ultra and Encore, which will now offer Atlas Active Winglets.

“Now that we are closing in on certification of ATLAS on the CJ2 and CJ3 aircraft, we are excited to announce that our next program will bring the same performance benefits to the 560XL series” said Nick Guida, founder and CEO of Tamarack Aerospace. “These are amazing aircraft but operators know that they can rarely get to FL450 directly, which is where the efficiency is to be gained. Remember, each thousand feet of altitude above FL410 will net a 4.2% specific range increase, so Active Winglets have the potential to yield a 16% or greater range increase on this aircraft which will be a game-changer.”

Justin Ryan, president of Tamarack Aerospace, added “Our Atlas-equipped CJ3 is already flying 2,100 nm missions at FL450, so Active Winglets on the 560XL series will frequently enable transcontinental flights. Beyond range and time to climb, owners will also see the other benefits of Tamarack’s Active Winglets such as stability, fuel economy, increased maximum zero fuel weight, improved hot/high performance, aesthetics and value retention.”

Tamarack Active Winglets are the only aerodynamic technology on the market today that can reduce time to climb and fuel burn, while increasing range and aircraft stability, without any structural reinforcement, yielding significant time and cost savings. Tamarack Active Winglets are approved via EASA, ANAC and FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for installation on the Cessna CJ, CJ1, CJ1+ and M2 business jets. Certifications pending on the CJ2/CJ2+ and CJ3/3+ are projected for Q1 2018. Certification on the Excel/XLS is projected for Q1 2020.
