WaltAir has become Hummingbird Aviation Services

November 11, 2016:

Two successful airlines have become one; WaltAir and Hummingbird Aviation Services are now operating under the shared name Hummingbird, offering doubled capacity. With a fleet of 19 aircraft and more than 60 employees, Hummingbird will be Scandinavia's strongest player in the area of private aviation services.

The combined fleet consists of propeller and jet aircraft of different sizes, for different distances and a global reach. The range of services includes air charter, air taxi, air ambulance and cargo. In addition, there are six helicopters for passenger services, cargo and sightseeing. The merger also means that the build-out of proprietary terminals can be accelerated. HAS currently has fixed-base operations (FBO) in Malmö and Norrköping. Skavsta will open at the end of the year and Bromma is under construction.

"I can only see opportunities with the merger of our companies. As a unified company with strong visions and a solid basis, we will be the natural choice for travellers with high demands on flexibility and service," says Tobias Holmgren, CEO at WaltAir Europe AB.

"The aviation market in Europe and the world has been changed and faces major changeovers. We can see how large airlines start to cooperate. These changes are clearly visible even in our type of operation. More people start to see the advantage of having the power to affect when and where they are traveling with their aircraft," says Martin Johansson, CEO at Hummingbird Aviation Services AB.

With 64 employees and additional staff being recruited, Hummingbird can provide service around the clock, worldwide. The headquarters are located in Stockholm, and all employees from both companies remain within the new organization.
