Million Air Dallas appoints new vice president
April 11, 2016:Million Air Dallas announced the appointment of Don Rickerhauser as vice president of flight operations succeeding Bob Schmidt who was promoted to president and CEO of Million Air Dallas in March of this year. In addition to his role as vice president of flight operations, Rickerhauser will also serve as director of operations and air operator security coordinator (AOSC).
Rickerhauser joined Million Air Dallas in April 2014 as manager of flight operations bringing 30 years of airline and business aviation experience to the company. Before joining Million Air Dallas, he served as manager of safety and security for Bombardier Flexjet and director of safety for Jet Solutions LLC. Prior to that, he served as administrator of operational safety for Northwest Airlines and as a pilot for Continental Airlines and Allegheny Airlines. In addition to his pilot duties at Allegheny Airlines, he served as a line check airman, assistant chief pilot and manager of flight standards.
Rickerhauser holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate and is type rated in a SD-3, DHC-8 and B-737 and has over 10,000 flight hours in his career. He also holds a Flight Engineer Turbojet certificate and Aircraft Dispatcher certificate.
Rickerhauser holds a Master of Aeronautical Science in Aviation Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management and Flight Technology from Florida Institute of Technology.
