Acquisition of Sovereign Business Jets opens new doors for Castle Air

UK helicopter operator, Castle Air Limited is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of Sovereign Business Jets, a fixed wing operator also based at London Biggin Hill airport.

This acquisition by Castle Air of Sovereign Business Jets not only provides the experienced helicopter operator with a fixed wing capability, with a solid operational infrastructure and a global AOC; it also enables Castle Air to offer an on-demand 'go-now' charter facility with seamless, coordinated interlining at London Biggin Hill airport.

The concept of an 'on-demand' service is based on a successful formula created in Castle Air's experienced helicopter charter business and is targeted at travellers who need to undertake flights at immediate or short notice.

In a typical scenario, clients can be collected from home or office by helicopter and flown to Biggin Hill where the Castle Air Ops team have set up interline arrangements for immediate access to a wide range of based business jets.

Ross Bunyard, MD at Castle Air, says that the combination of fixed and rotary wing offers a genuinely new product to the business travel market. “We know the broker community in particular will value offering their clients access to our 'go-now' service”.

“Busy people often require air travel urgently at short notice and London Biggin Hill is the ideal airport for a smooth interline sequence, fully controlled by our own staff” he says.

“We have plans to expand our new fixed wing business with both mid-size equipment and large cabin long-haul aircraft such as the Gulfstream 550 or Global Express by the end of this year” says Ross Bunyard.
