London Air Services continues as only Canadian aircraft operator to receive prestigious Wyvern Wingman certification
December 22, 2015:London Air Services, one of Canada's leading corporate jet service providers based out of CYVR, recently renewed its Wyvern Wingman certification, the only air charter operator in the country to receive the prestigious Wingman certification. The Wingman Standard is recognized as the industry's most well-respected standard in business aviation.
“Wingman standards far exceed regulatory minimums and so it is with great pride London Air has successfully renewed our Wingman Certification,” said Wynne Powell, President and chief executive officer, London Air Services (LAS). “Safety and the highest of operating standards are of primary importance to LAS and ultimately are what our loyal customers expect from us. Many corporate charter clients only source from Wingman operators, we will continue to work diligently to go above and beyond the expected.”
London Air Services has been a Wyvern member since 2009. Wyvern audits cover everything from formal training and staff interviews, to physical aircraft inspections. With the renewal, London Air Services has earned a combination Wyvern Wingman and International Standard for Business Aviation Operations (IS-BAO) Stage One certifications.
“The ability to continually meet the Wyvern benchmark is a testament to an organization's commitment to safety. We are proud to announce that LAS has passed their second Wingman audit. They are the only Wingman certified operator in Canada. Their continued commitment to safety has made them an industry leader in safety culture,” says Art Dawley, Wyvern ceo.
Other Wingman Standard criteria include full-motion simulator training for pilots every 12 months, adherence to ICAO standards for Safety Management Systems, ongoing training and professional development for maintenance technicians, and vendor audits. London Air Services will be audited again in 24 months.
