January 6, 2015:

The Air Charter Association of North America (ACANA), a nonprofit organization, recently published its 12-page *Contract Best Practices (CBP) document, which provides in-depth information as a valuable resource for air carriers and brokers that engage in the arranging of brokering aircraft. ACANA will be present at the 2015 NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference, exhibiting in booth 1826, in California, February 3 – 6, at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. Addressing CBP and other pressing matters affecting industry, ACANA will hold a press conference in meeting room 211C on Feb. 4, 2015, from 2 – 3:30 p.m.

Scott Bickford, ACANA's chair and ceo of Air Planning LLC., said, “The CBP addresses a myriad of areas, including recommended contract language, credit card payments, agency relationships, waivers of subrogation, flight irregularities, payments and cancellation, force majeure and numerous other issues that are associated with crafting effective contract agreements. ”

Bickford credited CBP as a collaboration between the ACANA board and Dayton Lehman Jr. Mr. Lehman, the former Department of Transportation principal deputy assistant general counsel of the Aviation Enforcement Office, now holds the position of president of Capitol Business Solutions' Aviation Group.

“Having Dayton's involvement with the CBP project certainly speaks to the quality of our association,” Bickford said.
