Gregory J. Schmidt named president and ceo of Pentastar Aviation

January 16, 2013:

Gregory J. Schmidt has been named president and chief executive officer of Pentastar Aviation, effective immediately. He had been Pentastar's senior vice president and chief financial officer since 2008, and had assumed the role of interim president and chief executive officer in the fall of 2012.

"Since his first day at Pentastar, Greg has demonstrated tremendous leadership and vision," said Edsel B. Ford II, chairman and owner of Pentastar. "He is respected and admired not only within our organization but also throughout the business aviation community. The growth initiatives that Pentastar is embarking on in 2013 and beyond are, largely, the direct result of Greg's efforts – and I know this is just the beginning of great things ahead now that he is in the left seat."

"Pentastar has an extraordinary team of consummate professionals, and I am deeply honored and humbled to continue working alongside of them in this new capacity," added Schmidt. "Like the rest of our industry, we've come through a challenging chapter over the past few years; we are very excited now to be on a course of significant growth for Pentastar. There's a lot of work ahead, and I am grateful to Edsel and my Pentastar colleagues for affording me the opportunity to be a part of it."

In the decade prior to joining Pentastar, Mr. Schmidt was with Pulte Homes. During his tenure there, he served as the president of Pulte Homes of Ohio, and as manager on the Corporate Asset Management Committee for Pulte Homes, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration & Accounting from the University of Detroit, and a Master of Science degree in Finance from Walsh College.
