Titan Aviation MD Capt Sakeer Sheik talks AOCs and globalisation

Titan Aviation secures two AOCs and plans growth

Dubai-headquartered Titan Aviation has recently secured an AOC from San Marino as well as FAA Part 135 certification. The company is expanding into the global market and says the latest two certifications will facilitate its international aircraft management and charter business. Its target is to have 20 jets under management in Europe and 50 in the USA within two years.

Managing director Captain Sakeer Sheik says: “The new AOCs and offices leave us well placed to reach these aims. We are now servicing the main European and American business and leisure destinations preferred by our clients in the Middle East and India, while providing seamless access to and from the USA and Europe.”

The global operations team heading up the growth programme includes head of Europe base Captain Joachim Begründe, president of aircraft sales Henri Lauras, support services manager for Europe Ilaria Cecere, VP business development James Coak, general manager and head of US base Horm Irani, chief pilot Louis Ridley and Steve Zirelli, who joins the Titan board in the USA.

Sheik adds: “This is a highly-skilled cadre of multi-national experts who bring a deep understanding of US, European and global aviation to the business. As we look to greatly widen our wing print within a jet-speed timeframe, Titan can now offer 360-degree aviation solutions around-the-clock.”

Titan’s international growth also includes expansion into the medevac arena, particularly in the UAE where a gap in the market has arisen with the withdrawal of Abu Dhabi’s Royal Jet from the sector. Sheik says: “We are looking at medevac aircraft that can also be converted into a VIP charter aircraft, and we are looking far beyond the Middle East.” As a first step towards a fully-fledged operation Titan is currently finalising a partnership with a large hospital group in the United Arab Emirates to provide specialist medical care.
