Hunt & Palmer appoints director of business development

UK-headquartered Hunt & Palmer has appointed 20-year aviation veteran Karen Farquharson as director of business development. Responsible for the company's US operations, she will seek to enhance its penetration of the group air charter markets in the Americas and Caribbean.

Vice president of commercial aviation Paul McCluskey says: "Karen is a leading light in the US charter airline industry and we have long admired her professionalism, outstanding client development skills and advocacy for exceptional service, ethical best practices and education in the travel industry. Her ethos matches our own and she will illuminate our marque across all travel industry segments."

Most recently Farquharson held a senior management position with Florida-based Airways. She says: "I feel that Hunt & Palmer fosters my passion for high standards and that I have found a home where the clients I've developed over the years will receive the care and attention they have come to expect from me personally and professionally."

Julie Black named Woman in Aviation

Executive aviation manager Julie Black was named Woman in Aviation by the Sapphire Pegasus business aviation awards at EBACE in respect of her 20 years of service to the industry and for her hard work and dedication as a council member with BACA - the Air Charter Association.
