Trans Europe charter is approved for ORTAC

Read this story in our FlipViewer digital magazine.

Jersey-based aircraft management specialist ORTAC has had an exciting 12 months of business growth. Not only has it been granted its AOC by the Guernsey 2-REG registry, it has also secured Third Country Operator authorisation. This means that the company is now able to offer charter flights across Europe on the two new 2018 Citation jets under its management.

Additionally, the States of Jersey Department of the Environment has authorised ORTAC to carry pets from all European destinations into the island, having fulfilled the stringent protocols required to obtain Pet Travel Scheme approved carrier status. ORTAC is now able to offer charter services to destinations across Europe including London, Paris, Geneva, Sweden, Barcelona, Ibiza, Eastern Europe and even north Africa.

Obtaining industry authorisation is a lengthy and rigorous process, requiring an extensive level of technical specialism. Accountable manager Lee McConnell explains: “Everything we do at ORTAC begins and ends with safety. By obtaining an AOC from our aircraft registry 2-REG for commercial charter, as well as a Third Country Operator authorisation from EASA, we have shown that we meet the stringent international safety and operational standards required. We are exceptionally proud to have achieved these comprehensive authorisations as quickly as we have.

“Now that we have the green light to fly commercially around Europe and beyond, we are delighted to offer the convenience of fast, comfortable, door-to-door flights for up to seven passengers on our brand new jets, each piloted by two experienced crew at competitive prices.”
