SaxonAir brings in Freeman to oversee catering

Norwich, UK-headquartered SaxonAir has appointed John Freeman as catering manager. The new capacity John brings to the SaxonAir team means that it can now offer in-flight catering, providing an extensive menu for passengers to choose from.

CEO Alex Durand says: “We have looked to invest in our own in-house capability to deliver catering at a really high standard. In conjunction with our conferencing facilities, the ability to cater for large scale events really puts us on the map as a business event venue. What's really great is the unique experience we can offer people, from hosting a meeting with views of the apron, to eventing in the main hangar along with a range of private jets and helicopters; it really is a unique space.

“The development of John's role at SaxonAir demonstrates an investment from us to move whole-heartedly into this market. John is managing our on-site café along with the function catering but also investigating a number of opportunities to deliver on external contracts from the base.”

Freeman has worked at some of London's best hotels in a hands-on role before migrating into management at the Youth Hostel Association's flagship hotel. He joined SaxonAir in late 2018.

“This new role is a great opportunity to really put SaxonAir on the map within the business community and demonstrate the unique style of events that can be held in such an exciting and versatile space,” he comments. “I'm already working on a number of opportunities to develop the offering here further.”
