Fly Louie demonstrates short-haul pedigree

New York-headquartered Fly Louie is offering a regular scheduled service between NYC and and Pittsburgh, with single-seat bookings available.

Starting in January, the company will be organising 16 weekly legs between the two locations, out of Allegheny County airport nine miles from downtown Pittsburgh, and New York's Westchester County airport, less than an hour by car from midtown Manhattan. For Pittsburgh to New York, the journey is just under three hours from door-to-door.

“We're incredibly excited to start our Pittsburgh-New York route," says Julia Takeda, founder and CEO of Fly Louie. "With Pittsburgh it was love at first sight, and the response by the business community has been outstanding. Travellers want more options and flexibility when flying. We will not only get you to your destination safely, but we also bring the speed and convenience of private travel and make it accessible to commercial travellers."

Fly Louie offers two pilots on every flight and a concierge at its private terminal. Travellers can book by the seat or by entire aircraft. All flights are performed by FAA-licensed and DOT-registered air carriers, including Altius Aviation and Reliant Air Charter, with the preferred aircraft being the King Air 350 and Pilatus PC-12. The operator says that the King Air is very comfortable and more economical than comparably-sized jets, while still capable of virtually the same flight time.

“We prioritise safety, value and speed above all for our passengers," adds Takeda. "And we work with excellent charter operators and crews to ensure a pleasant flight and a level of service that Fly Louie customers come back for."

Pittsburgh-New York is Fly Louie's second dedicated route, after it opened a New York to Nantucket route in 2018. Additional routes are in the pipeline.
