TAA and PAA cooperate on children's intensive care transports

Austrian operator Tyrol Air Ambulance (TAA) and Germany-based Pediatric Air Ambulance (PAA) will work closely together in the future to provide intensive care transport for children. The collaboration follows successful equipment tests on the Citations and G100s used by TAA and allows the company to offer both incubator and children's intensive care transports on top of its exist- ing product portfolio of single, double and organ transports.

PAA medical director Dr Matthias Hübner says: "In TAA we have acquired an experienced and internationally operating air ambulance partner." TAA MD Manfred Helldoppler continues: "As other requirements need to be fulfilled for children's intensive care transport than for transport for adults, it was important for us that we find a partner with the corresponding expertise."

For joint assignments, TAA will deliver the aircraft and flight crew while PAA will provide the specialised medical crew for the children and the necessary equipment required in neonatology and children's intensive care medicine. Paediatricians will be selected from experienced specialists and consultants working at university hospitals, primarily Ludwig-Maximilians University Hospital in Munich.
