FlyJetway CTO Oleg Ivanov, co-founder and CEO Igor Grigoriev, product manager Anna Selyugina and COO Ilya Kiselev have designed a time-saving tool for brokers

Broker turns software developer

Portugal-based former brokerage FlyJetway has developed a software solution it claims will speed up the process of flight preparation for brokers. Co-founder and CEO Igor Grigoriev says: “The team has worked closely with a number of European and American brokers to create a simple and easy to use product that helps charter prof- essionals store, access and utilise aviation data seamlessly and quickly by automating the most time-consuming parts of the job.” Its features include automatic document generation for quotations and briefings, geography-based aircraft pre-selection and instant search.

Grigoriev previously worked at Russia-headquartered internet company Yandex and helped to found two e-commerce startups. He is a graduate of the Moscow Aviation Institute and has worked as an air charter broker with a portfolio of private customers in Russia. CTO Oleg Ivanov, who also carries out research in the data science field, is a graduate of Moscow State University and a gold medal winner at the International Olympiad in Informatics, an annual programming competition.

COO Ilya Kiselev is a graduate of Amherst College in the USA and of University College London. Product manager Anna Selyugina has worked as a research programmer and was at Facebook in California. She is currently completing her degree at Nova University of Lisbon.

“The key difference between our product and existing solutions is that we have built our platform with brokers in mind,” says Grigoriev. “Currently there is a lot of unnecessary technology-related hassle in the process of organising a flight. Many brokers store airport, fleet and contact data in Excel spreadsheets making it difficult to access easily, and writing up offers and flight briefings for customers can take a lot of time. We discovered that the majority of the industry's IT systems are not always user-friendly or self-explanatory.” The product supports several levels of personal-isation for each customer, which makes the software equally useful for one person companies and large brokerage houses alike.

“The idea behind the product is simple,” he adds. “We are not going to teach brokers how to work; we are giving them a tool that will take care of the mundane tasks, allowing them more time to communicate with the customer and operator.”
