Ross Kelly joins Light Jets with a view to expanding its Australian charter

Light Jets Australia opens Queensland broker division

Australian Citation Jet operator Light Jets has opened Aircraft Charter Brokers Australia, its broker division in Queensland. Mark Peart, managing director for the group, says: “Sometimes our customers need aircraft either smaller or larger than those we have in our fleet, so we decided we needed a separate, standalone brand to cater for this market. The charter market in Australia, although nowhere near as big as Europe or the USA, is still large enough due to the vastness of the country and the lack of commercial options for clients. To get around here means ad hoc charter is often the best option.”

Recently appointed sales manager Ross Kelly notes that along with opening the broker division, Light Jets offers bespoke private jet tours in northern Australia and is expanding its FBO at Archerfield airport in south west Brisbane. Kelly, who has previously worked within the industry in Europe and for Private Jet Charter in the UAE, adds: “We are already seeing enquiries come in from the website, which itself is still undergoing development.”
