Jet Productions teams up with Sun Air Jets for Film Sun Air

Kim Scolari of Van Nuys, California-based Jet Productions has teamed up with operator Sun Air Jets in nearby Camarillo to launch Film Sun Air, a company whose objective is to handle all aspects of filming from meeting location scouts and helping to choose the right aircraft to assisting with film permits and providing insurance requirements.

“I really feel Sun Air Jets is in the perfect position to market not only its jets for static shoots, but also its Van Nuys and Camarillo hangars for filming purposes,” says Scolari. “Besides having a full fleet of corporate jet aircraft, both facilities include gorgeous state of the art hangar space that makes for the perfect film set.

“Since we started on this venture last year, we have filmed some very big projects at the Camarillo facility, including a Hyundai commercial, TV shows as well as a feature film, videos and other projects.

“Many operators turn down the filming business because it can be very time consuming and labour intensive, but we have some exciting projects ahead. A hangar is basically a blank canvas and can become anything a director desires. It is so exciting to see an empty hangar turn into a movie set or video shoot,” says Scolari.
