PhilJets and Grab Taxi form an alliance to launch GrabHeli

Manila, Philippines-based aviation start up PhilJets and Singapore mobile taxi booking app GrabTaxi, have formed a partnership to launch GrabHeli, a pre-booking helicopter service feature in the GrabTaxi application. GrabHeli provides users with the facility to take PhilJets helicopter rides around Manila.

CEO Thierry Tea says: “PhilJets is delighted to be the very first to co-launch GrabHeli. GrabTaxi has demonstrated its strengths and leadership position in Asia with more than 10.5 million downloads in the Philippines alone. ”

Business development manager Michiko Soriano adds: “We are thrilled to be chosen as partner for the launch of the GrabHeli feature. We have been working on this together for months, and while it is mainly a marketing campaign, we hope for it to benefit the whole aviation industry in the future. There are not yet many helipads or landing sites in the metro area so we will start with aerial tours of Manila and maybe an airtaxi airport transfer from Makati or the Fort, which we already do, but with GrabHeli hopefully there will be a larger reach in the future.”
