Avicus Group helps form Angel Jet Network and links up with Jetsolution in Hong Kong
Jane McBride, founder and ceo of Shanghai-based Avicus Group, is jointly behind the formation of Angel Jet Network (AJN) with William Schultz, senior vice president of development at Textron Aviation China. AJN is a charitable organisation in Asia Pacific with the mission of leveraging corporate aviation to transport underprivileged patients to medical treatment centres across the region.
AJN is modelled on the Corporate Angel Network (CAN)established by Priscilla Blum in the USA, who has accepted the role of honorary chairman of AJN's advisory board. The work Blum undertook at CAN organising the transportation of cancer sufferers for specialised treatment in the empty seats of corporate jets has changed the lives of more than 47,000 patients. In 2015 Blum was inducted into the Women in Aviation International Pioneer Hall of Fame.
AJN will partner with business jet owners, operators and airlines that are willing to donate empty legs, empty seats on scheduled flights or flight hours that can be used to transport patients in remote locations to medical centres, or which can be sold at market rates with proceeds donated to AJN.
Avicus has also formed an alliance with Hong Kong's Jetsolution Aviation Group (Jetsolution). Together they plan to offer seamless services from itinerary planning to customised fine dining in the air, combining safety and luxury on every flight.
McBride says: “I am pleased to be working with Jetsolution, which will identify opportunities while focusing on service delivery and timely responses.“
Jackie Wu, group president of Jetsolution, adds: “We recognise the charter expertise of Avicus which combines experience and insight from both the west and east. Meeting the requests from our global charter clients will not be difficult thanks to Avicus's privileged access to charter fleets around the world.”
Jetsolution and Avicus have tailor-made a list of Michelin-starred international cuisine and award-winning wines to best suit air customers. “We strive to be innovative and look forward to future developments,” says Wu.
