Private Jet Charter finds a home for US operation
Private Jet Charter (PJC) arranges upscale chartered flights for clients around the world, and says it could have chosen virtually any major city in the US as its North American headquarters.
The search for a US home led the UK firm to Fort Lauderdale, where it has established a regional headquarters that will facilitate its expansion throughout the continent. Hugh Courtenay, founder and ceo, says: “Fort Lauderdale has a very busy private jet airport. It has the second largest number of private jet movements in the US. That factor, combined with tax incentives and other desirable qualities, convinced us to locate our North American regional headquarters there.”
Courtenay explains that Fort Lauderdale offers everything PJC was seeking in a permanent home base in America. “We opened an office in the US because we were getting more and more American business. We have staff who are on call in Europe 24 hours a day, but took the decision to open in Florida and haven't looked back.”
He adds: “Our downtown location is a very good corporate area. A lot of high net worth individuals are in this area, and they are who we cater to. In addition to this, we are positioned on the gateway to Latin America, another expanding market for us.”
PJC is now looking to hire an experienced aviation broker to join its team in the US as the business continues to expand (see the advert in the jobs section).
