Jeppesen ForeFlight has unveiled Trip Feasibility and Ops Briefing, two Airflow AI agents built into ForeFlight Dispatch, with five business jet operators in a co-development phase ahead of a broader 2027 rollout.
Jeppesen ForeFlight is introducing Trip Feasibility and Ops Briefing, two new Airflow agents for business aviation, at NBAA-BACE 2026. Built into ForeFlight Dispatch, the new capabilities use Jeppesen ForeFlight's aviation operating intelligence platform to help operators make faster, more informed decisions throughout the flight planning process.
Five business aviation partners, namely business jet operators Axis Aviation, Aircraft Services Group, Thrive Aviation, JetHouse and Sparfell, have joined the Airflow co-development phase. The company plans a broader rollout in early 2027.
Business aviation planners and dispatchers often need to pull together information from multiple, disparate sources before a flight can be released. Jeppesen ForeFlight Airflow agents use AI to bring that information together, helping reduce manual work while giving operators a more complete operational picture.
Built around five core, aviation-centric principles, Airflow agents reason in the context of real flight operation workflows, draw on Jeppesen ForeFlight's certified aviation data, provide transparency into the reasoning behind each recommendation, operate within established safety management system (SMS) frameworks and keep humans in control of decision-making. Together, these principles deliver aviation-specific intelligence designed to support informed decisions while allowing operators to determine the level of automation that works for their operation.
Trip Feasibility gives operators a way to evaluate a proposed trip in a single pass. Before committing to a trip, operators can check the proposed itinerary against a broad range of operational considerations that could otherwise surface later in the planning process or on the day of the flight.
Within ForeFlight Dispatch, Trip Feasibility evaluates country sanctions, eAPIS requirements, operational restrictions, overflight and landing permits, NOTAMs, current, forecast and historical weather and airport-specific information.
The airport data includes considerations such as Prior Permission Required and slot requirements, operating hours and restrictions, customs, fire category, parking, noise restrictions, fuel availability and runway length.
“Operators shouldn't have to discover that a trip won't work after they've already committed to it,” says Tim Schuetze, chief product officer at Jeppesen ForeFlight. “Trip Feasibility brings the information planners need together earlier in the process, so they can identify potential issues and make better decisions before a trip moves forward.”
Rather than requiring planners to work across multiple sources, Trip Feasibility brings these considerations together in one check using certified aviation data.
Ops Briefing automates one of the first tasks planners perform at the start of a shift: gathering NOTAMs and weather information from multiple sources and assessing their impact on operations.
The AI-powered briefing is automatically generated within ForeFlight Dispatch and provides a consolidated view of NOTAMs and current and forecast weather. Instead of spending the first several minutes of each shift manually pulling together this information, planners can begin with a shared operational picture.
Because Ops Briefing draws on Jeppesen ForeFlight's certified aviation data, each planner can start the day with the same foundational information before moving into the day's operational tasks.
“Every shift starts with the same basic question: what do I need to know today?” adds Schuetze. “Ops Briefing automates that first step, giving planners a consolidated picture of NOTAMs and weather so they can spend less time gathering information and more time acting on it.”
Trip Feasibility and Ops Briefing are part of Jeppesen ForeFlight's broader approach to applying AI to real-world aviation workflows. Jeppesen ForeFlight Airflow agents deliver on five critically important principles: reason in context – trusted workflows that fully grasp how the aviation industry operates, not just what tended to happen last time; reason from certified inputs – provenanced intelligence, with every outcome carrying the regulatory authority and certified accuracy of Jeppesen ForeFlight's longstanding aviation data foundation; a visible why-trail – every recommendation reveals the underlying causal logic, from specific inputs and operational constraints through evaluated alternatives and associated uncertainty; ability to operate inside the SMS – applies the safety framework aviation already runs on; and human-centred judgment – AI handles the volume. Customers select how much automation they need, with an assurance that humans remain in control of decision-making.
