Members submitted 760 ASAP reports covering 432 events between January and June 2026, with altitude deviations remaining the most frequently reported category.
The Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) recorded 760 Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) reports covering 432 events between January and June 2026, according to its 2026 mid-year review. Of those, 703 were sole-source reports and 57 were non-sole-source, the latter covering declared emergencies, Brasher warnings and pilot deviations.
Altitude deviations remained the most frequently reported category at 16%, followed by traffic proximity events at 14% and coordination or communication issues at 11%. Together these three categories account for 41% of all reports submitted. Traffic proximity events were concentrated in the New York metropolitan area, Van Nuys and south Florida airspace.
Comparing 2026 data with 2024 and 2025 figures, altitude deviations and traffic proximity events have remained the two largest categories across all three years, consistently accounting for between 31% and 33% of reports. Coordination and communication issues, airframe mechanical problems and diversions have shown multi-year improvement, and non-sole-source events have declined significantly since the first quarter of 2025.
The mid-year review also examines wider issues shaping business aviation safety in 2026, including continued implementation of expanded safety management system requirements under 14 CFR Part 5, GPS/GNSS interference, runway and ground safety, and workforce pressures.
