Waukegan’s sole FBO will begin operations on 1 October, with plans including a terminal remodel, a new executive terminal in 2031 and membership of the Avfuel Network.
North Shore Jet Center will assume FBO operations at Waukegan National airport in Chicago on 1 October, becoming the airport’s sole FBO and joining the Avfuel Network.
The FBO plans facility enhancements including remodelling the existing terminal within the next year and building a new executive terminal in 2031, supporting the continued growth of the airport.
Airport director Skip Goss says: “North Shore Jet Center represents an exciting new chapter for Waukegan National airport. Its experienced leadership, commitment to safety and customer-first approach align with our vision for the airport, and we look forward to working alongside its dedicated team.”
The Waukegan Port District has also appointed Steve Bowlin as the FBO’s general manager. Bowlin leads the development and launch of the new operation, bringing more than three decades of FBO leadership experience.
The existing facility includes a passenger lounge, on-site rental cars, US Customs assistance and ramp-side vehicle access. North Shore Jet Center also plans expanded concierge services, including its “Text It, Get It” programme for advance transportation, catering and hotel reservations.
Bowlin says: “Our goal is to create an FBO where customers look forward to visiting and employees are proud to grow their careers. Building lasting relationships with our tenants, aircraft owners, flight crews and corporate aviation partners will be at the heart of everything we do.”
As part of the Avfuel Network, North Shore Jet Center will offer AVTRIP, Avfuel Contract Fuel and Avfuel Pro Card transactions for fuel and non-fuel purchases.
