Founded in April 2006, Trident has spent the past two decades building a reputation for personalised aircraft management, charter services and aviation solutions tailored to the needs of discerning aircraft owners and travellers. What began as a single aircraft operation has evolved into a growing aviation company serving customers along the USA's eastern seaboard while maintaining the hands-on approach that has been a hallmark of its success.
One of the most significant developments for Trident Aircraft in recent years has been the expansion of its operations in Richmond, Virginia. The Richmond location has quickly become an important part of the company’s network, providing enhanced service capabilities and supporting continued growth in both aircraft management and charter operations. The expansion strengthens Trident’s ability to serve clients throughout the mid-Atlantic region while creating additional opportunities for future development.
“Our growth has always been driven by our customers and our people,” says John Galdieri, president and founder. “We have never viewed growth as an objective by itself. Our marketing budget is minimal, and we rely on our reputation to foster growth. Every expansion and every aircraft addition is focused on providing a better experience for the owners, clients and our team members.”
That philosophy continues to guide the company as it prepares for one of the most exciting fleet growth periods in its history. During 2026, Trident plans to take delivery of four factory-new aircraft, including two Bombardier Challenger 3500 business jets, a Pilatus PC-12 PRO and an Embraer Phenom 300E. Looking ahead, the company is also scheduled to receive a Gulfstream G500 in 2027.
While fleet growth and facility expansion are important milestones, company leaders point to another factor that has remained constant over the past 20 years: a customer-first culture. Trident has built its business around responsiveness, transparency and long-term relationships. “We are a management company that puts our client's needs first,” continues Galdieri. “Charter is a secondary business unit for us, and we only charter aircraft when we feel it is in the owner's best interest. More than two thirds of our fleet is Part 91 managed exclusively.”
Trident’s proud to boast a stable leadership team where Galdieri has been in his role since founding the company in 2006. The Trident chief pilot, charter department manager and HR manager have been in their current roles for over a decade. Captain Frank Fluharty has been with Trident since day one and currently captains a Citation Sovereign based at Baltimore's Martin State Airport.
