Flexjet moves rotary operation into Blackbushe

August 9, 2026

Initially operations will be for Flexjet's Sikorsky S-76 and Agusta AW139 helicopters. It is also looking at future feasibility for group managed helicopters and eVTOL integration. Blackbushe is handily close to Farnborough.

Flexjet is taking a hangar at Blackbushe airport in the UK. Eli Flint, president of Flexjet Vertical Lift, explains: “The proximity of Blackbushe to our expansive new fixed-wing infrastructure at Farnborough Airport, along with its ideal location within our UK helicopter service area including Battersea Heliport, makes it optimal as the new home for our rotary operation; meeting our rotary aviation needs today and into the future. The airport redevelopment project has been well imagined, professionally managed, and we find the facilities and enthusiastic team at Blackbushe to be first class.

“In addition to its location and facilities, we've been highly impressed by the Blackbushe team. Attentive and responsive to their tenants’ aspirations, they are well-organised and take an altruistic and dynamic view of aviation within the UK, including forward-looking initiatives such as installing charging infrastructure for forthcoming eVTOLs and other electric aircraft.”

Flint concludes: “When you work in rotary aviation, your hopes are always for the British weather to be on your side, particularly into the autumn months! But aside from that, development is progressing well and now into its final stages. We're on target to launch our new operation from Blackbushe officially by early November, when the focus for our Flexjet customers will be on airport transfers and shooting season trips. From there and into next year, we're looking forward to growing our helicopter operation alongside our fixed wing fleet, and Blackbushe gives us the capacity and facilities to do so.”
